Overcoming Procrastination
The frustration of putting things off
Why do we put off the things that we want to do? Why do we get frustrated at our inability to get things done? What is holding us back from achieving what we know is possible?
All of us procrastinate. For some of us, it’s not a problem. For the rest of us, it’s holding us back and it’s probably time that we did something about it.
Smarter Egg founder Aodan Enright describes himself as a ‘recovering procrastinator’. He has struggled for many years with procrastination and along the way has studied many of the world’s experts on the problem, has tried many tools, techniques and systems and has worked with some great personal coaches.
So, it was no surprise when Aodan designed and delivered the first Smarter Egg Overcoming Procrastination programme in Autumn 2009.
What is this programme about?
This programme is a unique blend of different learning elements: interactive workshops, facilitated discussions and personal assignments, with a special option of one-to-one coaching in the area of procrastination. The programme typically has five distinct group sessions, running weekly. Participants learn from each other as much as from their own discoveries when exposed to thought-provoking material and perceptive questions.
How do I know that this will work for me?
Feedback from programme participants highlighted two primary benefits: developing an understanding of how and why you procrastinate, and learning a range of tools and systems that make a difference in overcoming the problem.
Participants have essentially doubled their capability to get things done. They assessed themselves on a scale of 1-10 where 1 was ‘chronic procrastinator’ and 10 was ’super-producer’. Before the programme, the average self-rating was 3.3/10; after it was 6.6/10. And the effect will continue to develop over time.
When does the next programme start?
Our next public group is likely to run in early summer 2010. If you would like to know more about how to participate in this group, contact us now.
